Reggae up your next event with DJ Culture Norm

Born and raised on the Caribbean island, Jamaica my interest in reggae dance hall music began in my teenage years. After the 1988 hurricane Gilbert hit Jamaica head-on, leaving the island in total darkness. Discovery Bay, the north coast town I lived in at the time experienced damage to plantations, homes, churches, schools and so on.
The island was left without electricity in most places for over a year and that meant amplified car stereos were the only source of entertainment.

When the electricity was finally restored in December 1989, I walked by a record shop and heard the sweet melody of fully amplified reggae music and that moment has been stuck in my head ever since. I purchased a dozen new records went home and pulled out my dad’s old Pee Vee tube amp, a pair of 15" midrange speakers and a single turn table and spent the weekend mixing my new tunes with my dad’s old ones .

The following weekend I was invited to enter a DJ competition and placed fourth. I took some constructive criticisms and upgraded my system and added to my music collection and was able to win a dance hall three sound clash in summer 1990. I continue to play in dance halls and night clubs even after I moved to Minnesota and continue to spread the sweet melody of the Jamaican reggae music in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and Illinois.

Reggae DJ with complete sound system and party lights, also over 30,000 reggae songs that are updated daily from the latest in Jamaican Dance Hall style to the sweet melody of the good Roots & Culture music for all events.

Our sound system (WILD GILBERT) will handle small private parties but is designed to mix a complete band for outdoor festivals and dance halls.

DJ and PA system rentals must be reserved four weeks in advance to guarantee your date.
